Revival住宅是萨拉·谢尔曼·塞缪尔(Sarah Sherman Samuel)创立的SSS Design工作室的经典住宅改造作品，设计核心围绕复古建筑肌理的当代新生展开，既留存了空间的历史底蕴，又赋予其适配现代生活的功能与美学表达。设计以自然为灵感内核，延续工作室标志性的侘寂美学，在不破坏建筑原有结构的前提下，完成了空间的焕新与重塑。

The Revival residence is a classic residential renovation project by Sarah Sherman Samuels SSS Design studio. The design focuses on the contemporary rebirth of the retro architectural texture. It not only retains the historical essence of the space but also endows it with functional and aesthetic expressions suitable for modern life. The design takes nature as its core inspiration and continues the studios signature aesthetic of wabi-sabi. Without damaging the original structure of the building, it successfully renovated and reshaped the space.

该住宅的建筑基底为一栋颇具年代感的独栋居所，SSS Design团队以整体化设计思路介入项目，从空间布局的重构到细节材质的甄选，实现了复古形制与现代生活的深度融合。团队保留了建筑本身高挑层高、复古天窗等原生优势，通过拆除冗余隔断，打造出通透的开放式公共区域，让自然光线充分浸润整个空间。

The architectural base of this residence is a distinctive single-family house with a vintage feel. The SSS Design team incorporated an integrated design approach into the project, from reconfiguring the spatial layout to selecting the details of materials, achieving a deep integration of retro style and modern life. The team retained the original advantages of the building, such as its high ceiling and vintage skylights, and by removing redundant partitions, created an open and transparent public area, allowing natural light to fully permeate the entire space.

材质选择上，工作室秉持自然原生的原则，大量运用做旧实木、黄铜、天然石材等肌理丰富的材料，借由材质的自然氧化与纹理变化营造出时光沉淀的质感。定制化手工家具与复古软装搭配相融，黄铜饰面包裹的岛台、带雕塑感的可调节吊灯等设计，让空间的实用功能与艺术美感达成巧妙平衡。

In terms of material selection, the studio adheres to the principle of natural and original materials. It extensively uses materials with rich textures such as aged wood, brass, and natural stone. Through the natural oxidation and texture changes of the materials, it creates a sense of the passage of time. The customized handmade furniture and retro soft furnishings are integrated and complement each other. Designs like the island table wrapped in brass ornaments and the adjustable pendant lamp with a sculptural effect achieve a perfect balance between the practical function and artistic beauty of the space.

在空间叙事层面，该住宅延续了萨拉·谢尔曼·塞缪尔(Sarah Sherman Samuel)的设计理念，让空间成为居住者生活的真实映射。从亲子共创的定制墙纸，到兼具收纳与装饰功能的手工柜体，每一处细节都兼具温度与个性，在复古复兴的设计脉络中，让这座住宅成为承载生活故事的温暖居所。

At the level of spatial narrative, this residence adheres to the design concept of Sarah Sherman Samuel, making the space a true reflection of the residents lives. From the custom wallpaper created by parents and children together, to the handmade cabinets that serve both storage and decorative functions, every detail combines warmth and individuality. Within the framework of the retro revival design, this residence becomes a warm dwelling that holds the stories of daily life.
