Interior designer Georgina Jeffries, with her delicate aesthetic sense, has transformed a Victorian wooden cabin built in 1916 into a seaside residence that combines friendliness and design depth. The residence is located in Lorne, Victoria, Australia, adjacent to the Great Ocean Road, backed by a bush and facing an open beach. This space is not only Jeffries creative practice, but also a warm home for her and her partner, Troy Fynmore of Dirt Landscapes, her daughter Dusty and her pet dog Tarki. The atmosphere of the house is warm and distinctive, carrying the daily traces and cherished memories of the family, thus exuding a sense of being surrounded by love.

改造过程中，杰弗里斯选择在保留原始环廊与简朴结构的前提下，扩展出三间卧室、两间浴室，并新建一座客用小屋。她的核心诉求在于加强室内与户外的互动，让居住体验与自然景观融为一体。厨房内，灰褐色大理石台面既耐用又能捕捉光影变化；整体空间采用温暖的中性色和柔和的粉彩，营造出宁静而富层次的氛围。复古与现代家具彼此对话，例如米斯·凡·德·罗（Mies van der Rohe）的 MR10 椅与弗兰克·豪厄尔（Frank Howell）的艺术作品相互呼应，形成既张力十足又和谐统一的视觉效果。

During the renovation process, Jeffries chose to expand three bedrooms, two bathrooms and build a new guest cabin while retaining the original corridor and simple structure. Her core demand lies in enhancing the interaction between indoor and outdoor Spaces, integrating the living experience with the natural landscape. In the kitchen, the taupe marble countertop is both durable and capable of capturing changes in light and shadow. The overall space adopts warm neutral colors and soft pastels, creating a serene and layered atmosphere. Retro and modern furniture engage in dialogue with each other. For instance, the MR10 chair by Mies van der Rohe echoes the artworks of Frank Howell, creating a visual effect that is both highly tense and harmoniously unified.

The floor is paved with Toasted Oak solid wood flooring produced by Royal Oak Floors. Its color is warm and nutty, with fine texture and soft feel, setting the tone of the space. Jeffries once emphasized: All materials are important, and roasted oak is the base color of the entire design. In addition, she also set up custom window-side seats, allowing the courtyard scenery to naturally extend into the living room. The French door of the master bedroom leads directly to the garden, seamlessly integrating the outdoor atmosphere into daily life.

整体设计语言清简却富有情感。粗砾石小径、天然石材、裸露砖面、织物肌理与抹灰墙面交织成层次分明的质感景观。材质、光影与开放感彼此交织，共同营造出与海岸生活节奏相契合的空间体验。在这一转化中，原本低调的小屋焕发出新的生命力，成为一个“宛如温暖怀抱般”的居所，宁静、安定，令人心生归属。

The overall design language is simple yet emotionally rich. The coarse gravel path, natural stone, exposed brick surface, fabric texture and plastered wall interweave to form a distinct and layered textured landscape. Materials, light and shadow, and a sense of openness interweave with each other, jointly creating a spatial experience that resonates with the rhythm of coastal life. In this transformation, the originally low-key little house has regained its vitality and become a residence like a warm embrace, peaceful and stable, evoking a sense of belonging in peoples hearts.
