康涅狄格州Rolling Hills的家庭住宅由JAM建筑事务所精心改造，其设计在现代感与乡村传统之间取得了细致的平衡。住宅原址建于1990年代，具有略带谷仓风格的外观，但因火灾受损严重，内部结构和家具布局存在诸多不便。建筑师乔·麦奎尔（Joe McGuier）与梅根·普赖姆（Megan Prime）在接手项目后，针对房屋内部布局、采光及空间功能进行了系统优化。

The family home in Rolling Hills, Connecticut, was meticulously renovated by JAM Architects, whose design strikes a delicate balance between modernity and rural tradition. The original site of the residence was built in the 1990s and had a slightly barn-style appearance. However, it was severely damaged by fire, and there are many inconveniences in the internal structure and furniture layout. After taking over the project, architects Joe McGuier and Megan Prime carried out systematic optimization for the interior layout, lighting and spatial functions of the house.

建筑师通过提升玄关高度、采用铁艺栏杆替代实墙，并重新安置客厅壁炉，使内部空间的流线更加通透，同时最大化视野，可俯瞰Litchfield Hills的农田与森林景致。此外，他们建议用窗户替代部分滑动门，为家具布置创造更多可能性，并在原有基础上将客厅及厨房面积扩大约46平方米，以满足家庭成员互动与生活需求。

The architect raised the height of the entrance hall, replaced the solid wall with iron railings, and reinstalled the fireplace in the living room, making the circulation of the interior space more transparent and maximizing the view to overlook the farmland and forest scenery of Litchfield Hills. In addition, they suggested replacing some sliding doors with Windows to create more possibilities for furniture arrangement, and expanding the living room and kitchen area by approximately 46 square meters on the original basis to meet the interaction and living needs of family members.

室内设计方面，住宅呈现中世纪现代与当代家具的混合风格。客厅内，大型石材壁炉与横梁形成视觉平衡，辅以汉斯·韦格纳（Hans Wegner）的复古Papa Bear椅、定制十英尺长沙发及JAM设计的电视柜，打造出兼具亲切感与美学品质的空间中心。厨房以绿色大理石台面与木质基座的烹饪岛及用餐岛为核心，配色以Benjamin Moore的Collingwood与Cloud Cover为主，光源多以柔和台灯及吊灯营造氛围。

In terms of interior design, the residence presents a mixed style of medieval modern and contemporary furniture. In the living room, a large stone fireplace forms a visual balance with the beams, complemented by Hans Wegners retro Papa Bear chair, a custom ten-foot sofa and a TV cabinet designed by JAM, creating a space center that combines a sense of warmth and aesthetic quality. The kitchen takes the cooking island and dining island with green marble countertops and wooden bases as the core. The color scheme is mainly Benjamin Moores Collingwood and Cloud Cover. The lighting sources are mostly soft table lamps and chandeliers to create an atmosphere.

卧室与浴室同样体现功能性与美学的结合。主卧重新布置床位与壁炉位置，配以复古家具及多材质床头柜，强调纹理与舒适感；浴室配备双人淋浴及独立梳妆区，保持空间宽敞。儿童房在色彩上进行个性化设计，以粉色、绿色及蓝色为基调，兼顾协调与活泼。住宅各处陈设多采用复古与定制家具相结合的方式，通过纹理、材质及色彩的层次变化，营造出富有生活感且宜居的现代乡村住宅氛围。

The bedroom and the bathroom also embody the combination of functionality and aesthetics. The master bedroom has been rearranged with the bed and fireplace positions, complemented by vintage furniture and multi-material bedside tables, emphasizing texture and comfort. The bathroom is equipped with a double shower and an independent dressing area to keep the space spacious. The childrens room is personalized in color design, with pink, green and blue as the main tones, taking into account both harmony and liveliness. The furnishings in various parts of the residence mostly adopt a combination of retro and custom-made furniture. Through the layering and variation of textures, materials and colors, a modern rural residential atmosphere that is full of a sense of life and livable is created.
