GL10 is a minimalist residence located in Maastricht, the Netherlands, designed by architect Niels Maier. The project is based on an old row house and, while respecting the original architectural character, through restrained and precise updates, it responds to the demands of contemporary lifestyles, while preserving the traces and depth left by time in the building.

尼尔斯·迈尔毕业于埃因霍温设计学院（Design Academy Eindhoven），其工作室设于马斯特里赫特市中心，长期从事企业空间与高端私人住宅的室内设计。他的作品以对工艺、材料和细节的高度敏感著称，强调设计应服务于空间本身，而非喧宾夺主。

Nils Meyer graduated from the Design Academy Eindhoven. His studio is located in the center of Maastricht. He has been engaged in interior design for corporate spaces and high-end private residences for a long time. His works are renowned for their high sensitivity to craftsmanship, materials and details, emphasizing that design should serve the space itself rather than overshadowing it.

住宅内部最引人注目的，是被完整保留下来的木质结构梁架。这些历经岁月的老梁带着自然裂纹与风化痕迹，清晰地讲述着建筑的历史。设计并未试图掩盖这些不完美，而是将其视为珍贵的空间记忆，让历史成为居住体验中可被感知的一部分，并与当代设计形成安静而有张力的对话。

The most remarkable feature of the interior of the residence is the intact wooden structural beams. These old beams, with natural cracks and weathering marks, clearly tell the story of the buildings history. The design does not attempt to hide these imperfections, but regards them as precious spatial memories, making history an integral part of the living experience and forming a quiet yet dynamic dialogue with contemporary design.

整体设计上，材料与色彩的选择极为克制。橡木地板、白色的墙面与天花、浅色木作共同构成干净而稳定的空间背景。柔和的米色与浅奶油色调，巧妙地缓和了新旧材质之间的对比，使深色老梁自然融入整体秩序之中，既不突兀，也不被弱化。

通过对比例、色彩和触感的细致控制，GL10 避免了装饰性的堆叠，将设计的品质落实在结构、材料与工艺本身。最终呈现出的，是一种理性而不冷漠、极简却富有温度的居住状态，让历史与当代在日常生活中自然共存。

In terms of overall design, the selection of materials and colors is extremely restrained. Oak flooring, white walls and ceilings, and light-colored woodwork together form a clean and stable spatial background. The soft beige and light cream tones skillfully alleviate the contrast between new and old materials, allowing the dark old beams to naturally blend into the overall order without being obtrusive or being weakened. Through meticulous control of proportions, colors, and textures, GL10 avoids decorative stacking and implements the designs quality in the structure, materials, and craftsmanship themselves. The final result is a rational yet not cold, minimalist yet warm living state, allowing history and contemporary elements to naturally coexist in daily life.
